Obituary of Florence Lucy Stasiak

Florence L. (Torrence) Stasiak, 77, of Danbury, beloved wife of Albert Stasiak, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, August 23rd at Danbury Hospital. She was born in Yonkers, NY on March 28, 1939, daughter of the late Floyd and Marie Torrence. She was a graduate of Commerce High School in Yonkers. Tookie, as she was lovingly known by her family and friends, was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter Church and volunteered to help both St. Peter School and Immaculate High School while her son attended. She was an avid bowler in her younger years, and continued cheering for Albert “AL” when she could no longer play. She also enjoyed reading and loved cats. Tookie will be remembered for her outgoing, cheerful personality. She always wore a smile, shared hugs, and was blessed with the ability to make those around her feel special and loved. In addition to her husband of 56 years, Al, she will be sadly missed by her sons, Albert “Buddy” Stasiak and his wife, Garda of Feeding Hills, MA; and Brian Stasiak of Danbury; her grandchildren, Tyler Stasiak and Natasha Eagan; and her great grandchild, Logan Eagan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Lawrence R. Stasiak, and her sisters Alice D’Aquila and Marie Sweet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 29th at 1:00pm at St. Peter Church, Danbury. Cremation will follow at the direction of the family. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Sunday, August 28th between the hours of 2:00 and 5:00pm. Memorial Contributions in her memory may be made to Danbury Hospital “Critical Care Unit”.
