Obituary of Humphrey Wilbert Swift
Humphrey Wilbert Swift, Sr., age 61, of Danbury, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, August 19, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Rita (Garcia) Swift.
He was born in Belize on May 22, 1955 a son of the late Charles Swift and Marjorie Brown. He immigrated to the Danbury area in 1983. He was an Electrical Engineer at Quality Uptime Services. He was one of the kindest people you could ever meet; he opened his heart and home to friends and family. He enjoyed spending time with love ones, working on his antique car and grilling in the backyard with family and friends. He loved sports and was an avid fan of NASCAR, martial arts and wrestling.
Most of all he was a family man and will be greatly missed.
In addition to Rita, his wife of 40 years, he leaves a son: Humphrey W. Swift, Jr. of Rhode Island; a daughter Kimberlean Picard and her husband Pierre of Danbury; 2 grandchildren Aaliyah and Dallas; 2 brothers: Warren Brown and his wife, Prudence of Danbury and Charles Swift, Sr. of Brooklyn, NY; and 7 nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 25 at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
