Obituary of Ralph J. Joyce
Ralph J. Joyce age 97 of Williamstown, NJ formerly of Brookfield died on July 17th in Williamstown. He was the husband of the late Margaret R. (Murcko) Joyce.
Ralph was born January 5, 1919 in New Milford, the son of the late Ralph N. and Alice (Alaby) Joyce. He was a graduate of Danbury High School Class of 1937 and attended the Airo Industries Technical Institute in CA. He had served in the U.S. Navy in WW II as a gunners mate, receiving both the Invasion Star and Pacific Service Ribbon.
Ralph was employed for 26 years with the State of CT as a supervisor of Highway Construction, and had retired in 1974. He was a member of the Newbury Congregational Church, Brookfield, and had played violin with the Danbury Symphony.
Ralph is survived by two sons: Richard D. Joyce and his wife Barbara of Mooresville, NC and Ralph M. Joyce and his wife Mary of Williamstown, NJ, one sister: Mabel B. Pope of Brewster, NY, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sisters Lorna D. Barnum, May Covill and Gladys Joyce.
Funeral Services will take place on Friday, July 22nd at 10:00AM in the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road Brookfield. Burial will be in the Central Cemetery, Brookfield.
The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Thursday, July 21st from 5:00 to 7:00PM.
