Obituary of Philip G. Toussaint
Philip G. Toussaint, 99, of Danbury, beloved husband of the late Irene (Zack) Toussaint, died peacefully at Bethel Health Care on Wednesday, June 15th. He was born in St. Lazare, Quebec on March 26, 1917, son of the late Pierre and Antoinette Toussaint.
Mr. Toussaint was a Veteran of World War II, proudly serving with the United States Air Force.
He was a past firefighter with the Germantown Volunteer Fire Department.
He owned and operated Phil's Sunoco Service Station in Bethel along with his brother, Rene, for 21 years. He went on to work for several years at Sealed Air Corp as an assembler. He had a strong work ethic and always provided for his family.
He is survived by his brother, Fernand Toussaint and his wife, Delores of New Milford; his two sisters, Georgette Talbot and Germaine Bencewicz, both of Danbury; his six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to cherished wife, Irene, he was predeceased by his son, Richard Toussaint, his daughter Nancy DeMunnik; his son-in-law, Gregory DeMunnik; and his siblings, Joseph, Henry, and Rene Toussaint, Emma Nadeau, Lucy Bouffard, Yvonne Couture, Imelda Snopkowski, and Adrian Roy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 22nd at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St, Danbury, on Tuesday between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm.
