Obituary of David Mark Mariano

David Mark Mariano, 35, of Palm Beach, FL, died peacefully on April 29th and is now with his heavenly Father. He was born in Danbury on September 3, 1980, beloved son of Frank D. and Dianne F. Mariano, brother of Peter Mariano and his wife, Erin, of Roxbury. He is survived by his much loved nephew, Frank Levi and niece, Mabel Lina; aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. His constant companion was Andre, his dog. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Frank and Hilda Felicissimo, Peter and Mary Mariano. Though his time was short, he lived life to the fullest. He graduated from Brookfield High School in 1999 where he played football, baseball, and coached the freshman basketball team. During high school he was also honored by the rare opportunity to play a game at Cooperstown Hall of Fame field. He went on to Keene State to play baseball. After a family trip out West, he transferred to Montana State. Junior year he studied at the University of Ecuador in Quito, where he became fluent in Spanish. He graduated from Keene State with a degree in Business Management. In middle school, he did a student exchange in Genoa, Italy. He was an avid fly fisherman, hiked an active volcano, Yellowstone, the back country of Yosemite, Tuckerman’s Ravine, rode on horseback through the Badlands of South Dakota, and trekked the rainforests of Ecuador. He swam with turtles in the Galapagos Islands, surfed in South Africa, Ecuador and America, and skied in the Northeast and out West. He fished for salmon in Alaska and loved to snorkel, bike and kayak. He was an avid reader, loved animals, and always had music playing. All of these activities were overshadowed by his love of children. He assisted with Sunday school classes but his most favorite times were spent with Frankie and Mabel. There was no better friend than David. If you needed anything, he was there for you. His quick wit, infectious smile and great sense of humor will always be treasured. To know David was to love him. David worked for Mariano Brothers, Inc., was a partner in several contracting firms, and currently was the business and sales manager for Gasiunasen Fine Arts Gallery in Palm Beach, FL. Services will be held at the First Assembly of God, Brookfield, on Friday May 6th at 11:00am.
