Obituary of Dolores Guido Schiavo

Dolores Schiavo Dolores (Guido) Schiavo, age 82, of Bethel, beloved wife of the late Anthony Schiavo, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 30, 2016 in the presence of her family. She was born in New York City, a daughter of the late Anthony and Irene (Cilenti) Guido. For most of their lives, she and her husband made their home in Yonkers, moving to the Danbury area in 2002 to be closer to family. Dolores retired from the Clevepak Corporation as an Administrator in the Human Resource Department. She enjoyed going to the casinos. Most of all she loved being a grandmother and great grandmother. Dolores is survived by her loving daughter, Irene Schiavo of Bethel, who is employed by the Bethel Board of Education; 3 grandsons: George DiGrandi and his fiance Kelly Whalen; Joseph DiGrandi and his wife, Amanda, and Michael DiGrandi; 2 great grandsons: Anthony DiGrandi and Jaxson DiGrandi; brother-in-law Michael Schiavo and wife Filomena of Yorktown, NY; and sister-in-law: Tessie Etter of Oklahoma; many nieces and nephews, 2 aunts and many cousins. The family would like to thank Masonicare of Newtown and their dedicated staff for the wonderful care that they gave to Dolores. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to: Masonicare of Newtown, 139 Toddy Hill Rd.,Sandy Hook, CT 06482 A Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 10:00am at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury; entombment will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in the Queen of Peace Chapel Mausoleum, Hawthorne, NY. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home on Tuesday, May 3 between the hours of 3:00 and 7:00.
