Anna (Patruno) Balash January 14, 1947 - November 24, 2003 Anna (Patruno) Balash, 56, of Birch Road, Brookfield, devoted wife of Thomas Balash, Jr. died on Monday, November 24th at the Danbury Hospital. She was born on January 14, 1947 in Naples Italy, daughter of Concetta (Cammaro) Patruno and the late Antonio Patruno. Anna was the owner of "Remember When?", a sport card shop, in Brookfield which has been run with the assistance of her husband and sons for many years. She worked in the security department at Costco Wholesale for four years. She loved cooking for her family, flowers, music, and her Italian heritage. She was a parishioner of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Besides her loving husband of 29 years, and her mother, Anna will be sadly missed by her sons, Anthony Balash of Brookfield and Daniel Balash of Houston, TX.; her granddaughter, Mariah; five brothers, Enzo, Sergio, Gino, Franco and Vittorio Patruno, all of Italy; four sisters, Sandra, Rosaria, and Rita Patruno, Maria and her husband, Claudio, all of Italy. She is also survived by aunts, Lucia Patruno of Italy, Connie Wendeel of Bethel, and Lina Patruno of Danbury; an uncle, Michael Poodiack of Florida; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; her mother-in-law, Mary C. Balash; special friend, Julia Perillo of Brookfield, as well as many co-workers and friends at the Costco Wholesale Club. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 26th at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Friends may call at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Tuesday, November 25th between the hours of 5 and 8 pm.
