Obituary of Barbara L. Lindner

Barbara L. Lindner October 02, 1927 - November 21, 1927 Barbara L. Lindner, 87, of West Redding, beloved wife of Robert G. Lindner, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Friday, November 21st. She was born in Summit, NJ on October 2, 1927, daughter of the late Edward P. and Hazel E. (Stryker) Kelsey. Barbara made her home in West Redding in 1960, creating a loving home for her husband and children. She retired as a postal clerk for the West Redding Post Office in 1987, after 24 years of employment. She made many friends in her coworkers, as well as many customers. She was a longtime member of the West Redding Fire Department, Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara was a voracious reader, lover of classical music and the movies. She had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling the world with her husband. Her passion in her early marriage was to learn to cook. She attained and surpassed this goal, becoming an accomplished gourmet cook. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be sadly missed. In addition to her cherished husband of 66 years, Robert, she is survived by her treasured children, Colonel Robert K. Lindner, USAF (June), of San Antonio, TX, and Laurie Dwyer L.M.C. (William J.) of New Milford; her seven grandchildren, Sean P. Dwyer (Jennifer), William Corey Dwyer (Susanna Martin), Kevin J. Dwyer, Rachel A., David K., Sarah J., and Hannah L. Lindner; and her three great grandchildren, Owen W., and Miranda J. Dwyer, and Christopher Lindner. She was anxiously awaiting the births of two new grandchildren in December and March. She is also leaves behind her sister, Margery Caggiano. Funeral Information A Mass of Remembrance will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 25th at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Cremation and interment in the family plot at Umpawaug Cemetery will take place at the direction of the family. There are no calling hours. The Brookfield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks for the loving care and support Barbara received from Drs. Zikria and Spera and their staff at the Danbury Hospital, and the staff of Meadow Ridge Senior Living Center.
