Marguerite E. Boughton, of Newtown, beloved wife of the late Alan Boughton, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 3, 2017, surrounded by her family and her six cats who took turns laying with her on her bed. She was especially loved by her cat, Bo, who came every night as mom prepared for bed.
Marguerite was born in Danbury on March 14, 1916, daughter of the late Leonard and Julia Ann (Saunt) Stelzel. . She was a graduate of St. Peter School and Danbury High School.

In 1977, they made their home in Newtown. She enjoyed working in the yard planting flowers, reading, and just sitting on the porch watching the cars go by, and of course, keeping track of her many dogs and cats.
She will be sadly missed by her children, Peggy Denninger and Barbara Oster, both of Brookfield, Gary Boughton and his wife, Martha of Bethel, and her son, Kenneth, with whom she shared her home and her life after Alan passed in 1991. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Ronald; and her three brothers, Leonard, Clayton, and Harold (Jim); and her two sons-in-law.
