Jeanette J. Voccia, 84, of New Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Vincent A. Voccia, Sr., died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, April 27, 2017. She was born in Danbury on November 30, 1932, daughter of the late Jerome and Susan (Pannozza) LaBarbera. She was a graduate of Danbury High School.
Mrs. Voccia worked as a bookkeeper for area companies, including Buzaid Oil, Segel Insurance, and Collins Morrow Real-estate and Insurance. She retired at the age of 74.
She was a talented seamstress who loved sewing her own clothing and special event dresses for her daughter. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to be with her family, and cook delicious meals for them.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Susan Schenck and her husband, Robert, with whom she made her home in New Fairfield; her son, Vincent A. Voccia, Jr. of Coral Springs, FL; her six cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Marcus Schenck, Ryan, Travis, Jeremy and Alyssa Voccia. She is also survived by her brother, Joseph LaBarbera and his wife, Dee; her sister, Tina Hajj; her sister-in-law, Connie LaBarbera; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to her parents, and her husband, Vincent, she was predeceased by her brother, Jerry LaBarbera.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 2nd at 10:30am at St. Peter Church, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Monday between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm.
